Perimeter Flutes is a professional flute quartet in residence at Georgia Perimeter College. The ensemble serves the local community by presenting entertaining and educational concerts, recitals, public broadcasts, and recordings. In August of 2011, Perimeter Flutes performed a recital at the National Flute Association Convention in Charlotte NC. They have also performed at the most prestigious national venues such as the Piccolo Spoleto Chamber Music Festival in Charleston, SC; and in St. Philip Cathedral in Atlanta, GA.

Kathy Farmer
Kathy Farmer

Kathy Farmer is the principal flutist of the DeKalb Symphony and of the Georgia Philharmonic. She teaches flute at Georgia Perimeter College, Greater Atlanta Christian School and maintains a flute studio in her home. She conducts the Flute Choir of Atlanta and is conductor and founder of the Atlanta Flute Ensemble. In addition to Perimeter Flutes, she is a member of Papageno Flute Quartet. Mrs. Farmer is the Atlanta Flute Club Flute Fair Coordinator. She graduated from the University of South Florida with degrees in Flute Performance and Music Education. She has taught at Emory University, West Georgia State University, Clayton State University and Mercer University in Atlanta.Visit her website at www.kathysflute.com



Jeanne Giager
Jeanne Herring Gaiger

Jeanne Giager, a native of Atlanta, began her flute studies with Warren Little of the Atlanta Symphony Orchestra. After graduating from Georgia State with her Bachelor of Music degree, Jeanne began juggling two successful careers of pharmaceutical management and flute performance. Jeanne now devotes herself completely to music. She became the director of the Greater Atlanta Christian School of Music, is an inaugural member of the Perimeter Flute Quartet, active member of the Briarlake Orchestra, the Second Ponce Orchestra, the Jubal Chorus Orchestra, and flutist for “Me, Mike, and Guy” (an Atlanta jazz trio).Her best times are spent with her flute, her family, and her big dog, Miss Pepperman…but not always in that order.



Laura Philpott
Laura Philpott

Laura Philpott, a native of Atlanta, Georgia, began her flute study with Charles Bradley in the East Atlanta Elementary Band. She continued private flute studies with Mr. Bradley and studied with Kareen Britt and Marion Valesak at Georgia State University where she earned her Bachelor of Music degree. After teaching elementary orchestra for three years in DeKalb County Schools, Laura began teaching flute privately in her home. She maintained a private studio of flute students for over thirty years in Rockdale County. Laura is Newsletter Coordinator for the Atlanta Flute Club and performs for churches and special events in the metro Atlanta area.



Nicole Chamberlain
Nicole Chamberlain

Nicole Chamberlainbalances her time as a composer, teacher, and flutist. Nicole's compositions have been performed by the Atlanta Opera, Georgia Symphony Orchestra, Dahlia Flute Duo, and many more. Nicole received her Bachelors in Music Composition from University of Georgia where she studied primarily with Dr. William Davis and was selected for master classes with Charles Wuorinen and Joan Tower. Nicole also performs with Mercury Season, Terminus Ensemble and Chamber Cartel. Nicole's former flute teachers have included Donna Orbavich (Hong Kong Symphony), Lisa Wienhold (Alabama Symphony), Dr. Ronald Waln (University of Georgia) and Atlanta Symphony Orchestra's principal flutist, Christina Smith.
